Julius Malema met with the South African Minority Rights Equality Movement, or Samrem, today to explain his use of a racial slur during a speech in Gauteng.
Malema has been charged with hate-speech and Samrem will now decide whether to drop the charges against the suspended ANC Youth League leader.
Ashin Singh of Samrem says they are impressed with Malema for wanting to meet with them to resolve the issue.
He says it will be up to their members whether or not the charges will be dropped.
