Eighteen people were seriously injured in an accident on the N1 just after Grasmere Tollgate.
The accident occurred this morning near Vereeniging, when a minibus taxi overturned.
Netcare911 Spokesperson Santie Steinmann said the injured people were treated at the scene before being transported to various hospitals.
Steinmann added that the cause of the accidents and the series of events leading up to the accident are not known at this and they will form part of the police investigation.
