NEHAWU rejects labour law amendments

The National Education Health and Allied Workers Union said it completely rejects the Democratic Alliance’s proposals on labour law amendments.

Nehawu’s Spokesperson Sizwe Pamla said the proposals are nothing more than an assault on the rights of workers, and they are meant to benefit the elite few and expand the already existing inequalities.

Pamla added that for anyone to conclude that the exploited workers in our mines and other vulnerable sectors will be better off if union rights were eroded and the LRA dismantled.

“We need to strengthen the labour relations act and make sure we protect the workers.” Pamla added.
