The African Christian Democratic Party said it supports the guilty verdict against former Communications Minister Dina Pule, after she was found guilty of most of the charges levelled against her.

ACDP’s Wayne Thring said the fine and suspension handed down to Pule by the Ethics Committee is a slap on the wrist for her but a slap in the face for the citizens of South Africa.

Thring said for the Former Minister to be given two weeks suspension on from Committee meetings and also docking a month salary is nothing compared to her what she did.

Parliament's Joint Committee on Ethics revealed that Pule had breached the code of conduct of Members of Parliament.

The allegations against Pule were based on her failure to disclose her relationship with Phosane Mngqibisa.

The Democratic Alliance has also welcomed the verdict.
