President Zuma extends Arms Deal Commission of Inquiry

Judge Francis Legodi who was part of the arms deal commission of inquiry has resigned. 

The commission was set up by President Jacob Zuma in 2011 to investigate the R70-billion arms procurement deal.

Zuma said he is considering extending the inquiry.

Former President Thabo Mbeki and other prominent ANC and government officials are set to appear before the Commission. 

Presidency Spokesperson Mac Maharaj said the President has received a request for the inquiry to be extended by 12 months.
