Eleven people were injured on Tuesday morning, when a taxi and bakkie collided on Nelson Mandela Drive in George.
ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, said officials arrived
on the scene at 08:20 to find the taxi and bakkie in the middle of the road. He
added that several people were seen seated on the pavement.
‘’Medics assessed the patients and found that two were in
critical to serious condition while none others had sustained minor to moderate
injuries. Fortunately, no fatalities were found.’’
‘’The patients were treated, and the two seriously injured
were provided pain-relief medication before being transported to George Provincial
Hospital for further care,’’ added Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.
The scene was handed over to Western Cape SAPS for further
investigations.
