The National Sea Rescue Institute has reported a  man missing.

It is believed that the man was fishing when his boat drifted towards the river mouth during the outgoing tide.

An inquest docket has been opened.

NSRI’s Craig Lambinon says the man was swept out in the tidal river and the boat reportedly capsized.

Lambinon adds that the NSRI searched into the night joined by the police and the police dive unit resumed the search on Sunday morning, together with local police.

Lambinon says they are still continuing to search and there is still no sign of the missing man.
