The Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital has been under the spotlight in recent weeks this is after multiple resignations in the anesthesiology department.
The Gauteng Department of Health said there were 12 vacancies that are set to open by July.
The departmental spokesperson Simon Zwane said the hospital is not in crisis.
Zwane further said the hospital will immediately embarked on a special plan to replace those that have resigned and there are still 29 specialists that are still employed at the hospital, so there is capacity to continue providing care to patients.
