The Democratic Alliance has called for a full scale investigation into the Gupta’s use of the Waterkloof Airforce Military Base on Tuesday.

The DA Member of Parliament David Maynier said the country needs to know how it is that the Gupta family was able to effectively hijack the state and secure landing rights and the use of AFB Waterkloof as well as protection from the SAPS VIP Unit.

Meanwhile media reports today revealed that the High Commissioner from India, Virendra Gupta maintains that he did nothing wrong when applying for the Gupta family's chartered plane to land at the Waterkloof Air Force base in Pretoria.

The Commissioner claims to have communicated with the Defence Minister Nosiviwe-Mapisa-Nqakula, who earlier in the week had denied that she granted permission for the plane to land at the National Key Point.

The investigations are continuing in trying to establish who authorise the visit.

Meanwhile the Congress of South African Trade Unions Provincial Secretary Solly Phethoe alleged that black workers were assaulted at the Gupta wedding at Sun City.
