Cosatu oppose retrenchments
Anglo American Platinum said on Friday that
it will now retrench approximately 6 000 workers down from the intital14 000
jobs.
However the Congress of South African Trade Union North West Secretary Solly Phetoe said no one in the province will lose their jobs, they are planning a massive mass action with mine workers.
Phetoe added that they will not accept the
retrenchments. As they said once the company threatens to retrenchments, they
will mobilise all mining industry in the North West Province
Phetoe further added that no single mineworker will
lose his job.
