Metrorail in the Western Cape together with Traders Association and the South African National Civic Association in Khayelitsha have responded well to request and attempts by Metrorail to clear operational areas.

Metrorail Regional Manager Mthuthuzeli Swartz said they have been having problems with hawkers who have been trading illegal on walkways, platforms and trading constraints in Khayelitsha.

Swartz said the only way to prevent this is to regulate traders at the Khayelitsha station.

Swartz added that they going to improve at section B and section C train station in their pilot project.
