Three people burnt to death in an accident near Richards Bay

An accident in the early hours of this morning left three people dead on the N2 near Richards Bay. This is after a car and a truck collided.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said when we arrived on scene both vehicles were engulfed in flames with some of the people still trapped in the wreckages.

Botha said after the fire was put out three people in the motor vehicle had died due to the very severe injuries that they sustained. The truck driver escaped without any injuries.

The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
