The Democratic Alliance says, it welcomes the reports that the South African Bar Council is proceeding with its action to have the deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions, Nomgcobo Jiba disbarred.

DA’s shadow minister of Justice, Advocate Glynnis Breytenbach says, they are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the process which will give further legal clarity on what steps the DA may take to ensure that justice is served in this matter.

“’To have a person of these type of background and as the head of National Prosecuting service to head up all the prosecutors in South Africa. Unfortunately, Mr Abrahams has learned nothing from the Menzi Simelane debacle and the decision on his side appears to be irrational.” Breytenbach added.
