15 people were injured this morning after a taxi drove down an embankment and collided with a wall at the South African and Anglo Road intersection in Cosmos City, Johannesburg.

Russel Meiring said in a statement, “ER24 paramedics, along with provincial services, responded to the scene and on arrival they found the bakkie parked on the side of the road. A taxi lay at the bottom of a small embankment, upside down. It was found that 15 patients, two from the bakkie and 13 from the taxi had sustained minor to moderate injuries.”

Meiring added that after treatment, patients were transported to nearby facilities for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
