A woman in her 30’s was found in a critical condition on Monday evening at a residence in Camelthron Road, Roodepoort.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics, along with Provincial Services and SAPS, responded to the scene and found the woman lying in a pool of blood inside one of the rooms.

Meiring said on assessment, paramedics found that the woman had sustained a serious laceration to her head and was in a critical condition.

He said paramedics treated the woman and provided her with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, she was transported to Baragwanath Hospital for urgent medical attention.

The cause of the incident is not yet known, however local authorities were on scene for further investigations, Meiring concluded.
