The Western Cape Liquor Authority’s hearing into Osi’s Place in Khayelitsha has been postponed until next month.

Today, during a brief appearance before the Liquor Licencing Tribunal, the license holder requested for a postponement.

He said he needed to secure new legal representation. Spokesperson for MEC Alan Winde, Bronwyne Jooste says the hearing will proceed on the 21st September.

“The licence was temporarily suspended at a hearing last month and it will remain suspended until the Liquor Licencing Tribunal issues a final judgement on the matter” Jooste said.

Some community members are calling for the tavern to be permanently shut down.
