The City of Cape Town has awarded Ace parking Services the tender to manage parking in Helderberg.

The company is expected to prevent the problems that many motorists often encounter when parking their cars in the town centre.

“Most of the motorists often complain about the shortage of parking spaces and some motorists have complained that they have been harassed by informal parking attendants” said Dave Lowry, head of Transport Management in the City of Cape Town.

Lowry added that receipt must be displayed on the dashboard of the parked car. This measure will also assist law enforcement officers during the course of their enforcement duties relating to parking and overstay violations.

The parking tariffs will depend on how much time does one person spend on a particular parking space.
