City residents to protest again
By Ofentse Mokae
02 August 2009
City residents may protest again on Monday unless the Mayor addresses their concerns raised in a protest march two weeks ago.
The residents raised a list of demands in a memorandum which was handed to the office of the mayor.
The residents gave the authorities a two week deadline but it is reported that by yesterday they heard nothing from the city.
According to the residents the city could see another protest if Plato had not responded.
Among the list of demads from the resident, housing, sanitation and lack of service delivery take precedence.
The affected areas include parts of Khayelitsha, Macassar village and other Khayelitsha informal settlements.
