The quick response of Hout Bay police led to the arrest of three suspects yesterday for house breaking.

A short while after the house breaking occurred the members were contacted by a law enforcement agency for assistance after they were attacked by two suspects. One was armed with a knife.

Both the suspects ran into the bushes. The suspects dropped a laptop, DVD player and a pair of shoes, which was taken earlier, in a house robbery in another station area. The mountain area was cornered off and the Dog Unit and chopper were contacted to assist in the search.

No arrests were made at this stage. Police called off the search after five hours. The other law enforcement agency went back to the scene and noticed two suspects and confronted them.

The one suspect had a knife and the other ran into the bushes. One suspect was arrested by SAPS. During questioning the suspects then pointed out to police an address, where more stolen property was recovered, including computer and audio equipment.

Another three arrests were made by SAPS. The value of the stolen property is estimated at R20 000.
