Tokyo Sexwale tours Cape Town informal settlements

Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale is touring informal settlements in Cape Town today.

The minister who is accompanied by his deputy Zou Kota-Federicks as well as Western Cape Housing MEC Bongikosi Madikizela is interacting with residents in the Joe Slovo and Delft informal settlements.

The minister met with community leaders earlier in a community hall in Langa and proceeded to N2 housing units to meet with local residents.

They are on a fact-finding mission to experience first hand the living conditions in the country's informal settlements.

Sexwale wants to upgrade informal settlements as part of government's commitment to improve living conditions in poor areas.
