The government of the devastated Caribbean island of Haiti has made a desperate call for humanitarian aid.
Latest reports indicate that the death toll after the huge earthquake that hit the island on Tuesday will exceed 100-thousand.
The capital of Port-au-Prince suffered tremendous damage with most of the buildings in ruins.
With overseas teams arriving all the time to help, the charity organisation Gift of the Givers in South Africa has requested donations ahead of its visit to Haiti to offer assistance to the people there.
Founder Imtiaz Sooliman says they will send three teams to assist, with the first team leaving tonight.
A search and rescue team will help locate and rescue the injured, while a second team will take medical supplies.
The last team will take goods such as tents and blankets.
