A body of a 52 year old male was found next to the N2 at the back of the airport in the bushes on Thursday afternoon.
Police say a passerby notice the body and informed police about the discovery.
“On investigation it was discovered that the deceased had a wound to the back of his head, but it could not be determined how it was inflicted and an inquest was opened, whilst the Post Morton report were awaited.
No further details about the crime were known,” said police spokesperson Captain Joe Wilson.
Anyone with information can contact the Investigating Officer, Detective Warrant Officer Mentoor of the Nyanga Task Team on 083 464 1390.
