An explosion at a factory left five people injured in an industrial area near Strand yesterday.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene the Fire Department was in attendance. The fire had already been extinguished and the Fire Department crews were treating the patients,” said ER24 spokesperson Trisatan Wadeley.

One patient was in a serious but stable condition and the rest were in a moderate condition.

The patients were treated for burns and smoke inhalation and transported to nearby hospitals.
