19 people have been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and being in possession of illegal narcotics over the weekend.
Traffic Services spokesperson Kevin Jacobs says officers arrested one suspect for possession of illegal narcotics and counterfeit money as well as driving with false registration plates on the N2.
“Officers also found 20 dagga ‘stoppe’ and a counterfeit R100 note in his possession.
“This arrest shows the vigilance and versatility of our officers, who are confronted with a multitude of offences on a daily basis,” Jacobs.
Also in Sea Point we arrested 18 motorists all on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
“Out ff the 18 motorists arrested 16 are male and two female, aged between 19 and 74,” added Jacobs.
“Our relentless efforts to apprehend drunk drivers continue to bear positive results. We appeal to motorists to please avoid alcohol if they intend to drive,” said Jacobs.
