Companies affected by the ongoing metalworkers’ strike have been urged to report all incidents of violence and intimidation to the police.
The Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of South Africa says several incidents have already been reported on the East Rand.
Angry workers are calling for a 13% wage increase and the banning of labour brokers.
Strikers in some parts of the country were reported to be on the hunt for their non-striking colleagues.
