The National Union of Metalworkers says strike action will continue indefinitely until their demands are met.
The Steel and Engineering Industries Federation however says there are no further planned meetings between itself and Numsa.
This is after wage negotiations deadlocked yesterday.
Numsa says they are set on their demand for a 13-percent wage increase, while the employers are offering seven-percent.
