Public Protector Thuli Madonsela has slammed corruption allegations against her as baseless and malicious.
She told a news briefing in Johannesburg that apparent attempts to keep her quiet would not stop her from speaking truth to power.
Reacting to reports that police plan to arrest her as a company she owns had allegedly benefited improperly from contracts worth nearly R2 million, Madonsela said she had always been open about her company and that the amount mentioned was ridiculous.
She questioned why the story surfaced just as she was about to release a second report on a probe into the lease of buildings to house police headquarters.
