President Jacob Zuma wants more information from National Police Commissioner Bheki Cele and Public Works Minister Gwen Mahlangu-Nkabinde before deciding on possible action on the Public Protector’s police lease bungle report.
Zuma yesterday sent a preliminary report to National Assembly Speaker Max Sisulu on the steps he has taken since Thuli Madonsela found that the leasing of new police headquarters in Pretoria and Durban was illegal.
Mahlangu-Nkabinde has, in turn, requested a meeting with Parliament's public works portfolio committee to explain her role in the saga.
