The driver of a coal truck that was involved in a deadly collision with a school bus in the Free State earlier this week has been charged with nine counts of murder and 45 counts of attempted murder.
Police say the 28-year-old man, who is currently recovering in hospital and is yet to appear in court, did not have a valid driver’s licence, or permission to use the truck.
Five children and four of their teachers died when the bus they were travelling in collided with the truck, on the N3, near Harrismith.
