The Hawks have arrested a retired prosecutor and a police member in Moroko, Soweto, in connection with corruption.

Spokesperson McIntosh Polela says the prosecutor and the detective constable will be charged with corruption, extortion, defeating the course of justice and conspiracy to commit perjury.

They allegedly colluded in manipulating the justice system to benefit themselves and businessmen.

The suspects have links with arrests made in September involving five police members, a senior prosecutor, two attorneys and four businessmen.
