South Africa may reportedly solicit bids worth one-trillion-Rands for the construction of six nuclear power plants by 2030.
Media reports that French and Chinese companies are among those preparing a joint bid.
Energy Minister Dipuo Peters said last month that she had signed off on a proposal for the new power plants, meant to fill the country’s a dire power shortage.
She also said that a proposal would be presented to Cabinet soon.
