There is a strong police presence in Tembisa on the East Rand where violent demonstrations have seen several people, including police members, wounded in protests.
More than a 100 residents have been arrested on public violence charges.
The protestors are unhappy about electricity charges and other service delivery matters.
Several vehicles were damaged yesterday and rocks and petrol bombs were hurled at law enforcers.
Police are determined to keep the situation under control today.
