Chemical and biological warfare expert Wouter Basson is seeking a discharge on four counts of unprofessional conduct before the Health Professions Council.
The cardiologist’s application will be heard by the Council’s professional conduct committee in Pretoria in January.
Should it fail, the hearing will resume in March when he and his experts will testify.
Basson denies that he had conducted himself unethically or unprofessionally when he headed the apartheid government’s chemical and biological warfare programme in the 1980s.
