The head of the Western Cape Religious Leaders’ Forum says government’s attitude towards the Dalai Lama is an embarrassment to all South Africans.
The Tibetan Spiritual leader has been invited to Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu’s 80th birthday celebrations next week.
Father John Oliver made the remarks in response to government’s failure to approve the Dalai Lama’s visa.
Oliver maintains that the time has come for civil society to put pressure on the powers that be.
