The Limpopo Provincial Basic Education Department has confirmed that former Higher Education Director-General Mary Metcalfe has been appointed to evaluate textbook deliveries in the province.

Spokesperson Panyaza Lesufi says the department has been concerned over reports that some schools were still missing books.

Some pupils have been without textbooks for the past six months after the department failed to procure books on time.

The Democratic Alliance Youth and the DA Shadow Minister of Education Annette Lovemore will embark on a march to the Limpopo Department of Education on Monday.

The DA Media Officer Jamie Turkington said their office structures in Limpopo received reports that some schools in Limpopo are still without textbooks.
