The Western Cape Government Health kicked off its Women’s Health Season, which stretches from July to September 2012.

Western Cape MEC of Health Theuns Botha says in terms of the millenium development goals of the World Health Organisation, women’s health is among the top five health priorities.

Principal Communications Officer Angelique Jordaan says that during this time all primary health care services are focused on promoting the health and wellness of women.

She also said women across the province are encouraged to make use of the services designed to protect them against unwanted pregnancies and sexual transmitted diseases.

She added that these services can be accessed at any public health clinic in the province.
