The Congress of South African Trade Unions in the North West province expressed excitement at steps announced by the City of Tshwane in the State of the City address by the mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa of doing away with labour brokers.
COSATU’s North West Provincial Secretary Solly Phetoe said the city had undertaken to do away with the labour brokers and take in all the labour broker employees into permanent city employees.
“The workers will receive salaries and benefits like any other employee that has been employed by the Municipality” Phetoe added.
