Proposals on food pricing

Cabinet has asked an inter-ministerial committee to make proposals on food pricing.

This is in response to fluctuations and feared shortages brought on by the severe drought in the United States.

National Agricultural Marketing Council CEO Ronald Ramabulane says the committee would also, among other things, review the Integrated Food Security Strategy.

Ramabulane added that the immediate concern is the influence of the drought in the US on food prices.
