State of Information Bill deadline extended

The National Council of Provinces announced an extension of the State of Information Bill deadline.

The announcement was made on Thursday that the deadline is the 31st of October.

The Right2 Know group is planning a march to the Union Buildings on the 28th of September.

Right2Know`s Dale McKinley said the march is part of the International Right to Know Day.

McKinley also said although some clauses have been scrapped there are still major challenges on the Bill.

Members of Parliament have called for another meeting to finalize the bill for a vote.
