The Congress of South African Trade Unions convened an anti rape rally for Sunday the 17th February.

The event will be both an opportunity to join in solidarity for all affected communities as well as an announcement of the specific steps to assist children and women being abused.

Cosatu also called for no bail for murder accused Paralympics gold medallist Oscar Pistorius.

Cosatu’s Tony Ehrenreich said the death of Oscar Pectoris’s partner clearly shows that a violent crime has taken place and Oscar is being implicated in that crime, even the brutality of it he could not be getting bail.

Ehrenreich adds that like any other man in South Africa who commits these heinous crimes  against women and children, so no bail for Oscar Pistorius.
