The Democratic Alliance said that Minister Susan Shabangu did a good job of pretending everything was well in the mining industry.

The statement followed Shabangu’s speech at the Mining Indaba in Cape Town on Tuesday.

Shabangu said South Africa has been reviewing its mining legislation framework and amendments to the law will go to Parliament for discussion.

She further said nationalisation is not government policy.

DA Shadow Minister of Mineral Resources James Lorimer said the Minister had lost touch with reality, as she pulled the wool over the mining industry’s eyes.
