The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa, members working at Denel are expected to intensify its strike action.

Numsa said the workers are striking to put an end the system of apartheid wage inequalities and disparities.

Numsa is calling on the management of Denel to realise that the wage inequalities are unsustainable.

Numsa’s Sector Coordinator Steve Nhlapo said that management is dragging its feet to finding a solution for the current situation.

“We intend to issue a notice of a secondary strike; the secondary strike must start next week” Nhlapo said.

Nhlapo urged all general workers to join the strike if management will not be prompt in correcting things
