Traffic is expected to be chaotic today around the Parliament area and surrounding areas.

Parliament spokesman Luzuko Jacobs said the there is bound to be problematic conditions on the roads, and that the closure of roads will not be crammed too long.

Jacobs said most roads are expected be closed as from 4pm.

Jacobs said it would only be certain streets that will be closed, and especially when the National Defence Force or the security assessment indicates that there should be closure on a certain road.

“As soon as those entourages go past  a particular point in the minimum possible time, those roads will be open again to the public” Jacobs added.
