Western Cape Police on Monday arrested another suspected gang leader in Kensington.  Police received information from a community member which led to the arrest of the 42-year-old alleged gang leader.

The total number of suspected gang leaders arrested in the province stands at four.

Police Spokesperson Thembinkosi Kinana said the arrest is part of an on-going invetsigation by members of Operation Combat and members of the Kensington police station.

Kinana added that Operation Combat is a strategy that is aimed at fighting gang violence in the Western Cape, in an attempt to curb gender based violence.

Meanwhile Community Policing Forum Chairperson Hanif Loonat has welcomed the recent arrests.
