Mpofu attackers due to appear in court today

The South African Police Service has confirmed that two suspects aged 23-years-old have been arrested in Cambridge, East London following the attack of Advocate Dali Mpofu.

The suspects are expected to appear in court today, police said the two might also be linked to other crimes in the area. 

Mpofu was stabbed and robbed of valuable items in East London last month. 

Police Spokesperson Brigadier Phuti Setati said that as the police they managed to recover the weapon that is believed to have been used in the attack, as well as the cellular phone that had been stolen.

Setati said that the arrested suspects are facing charges of assault, the assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm and robbery and the police will be opposing bail.
