Following investigations, the Department of International Relations has suspended the Chief of State Protocol Bruce Koloane following the Gupta debacle.

Investigations are still underway to determine who authorised for the landing of the Gupta aircraft at the Waterkloof Air Force Base.

This would allow the department to get to the bottom of the matter

DIRCO Spokesperson Clayson Monyela said an internal investigation is to begin with immediate effect.

Monyela added that it has become clear to them, looking at the preliminary reports certain government officials facilitated the securing of light clearances for this outside executive.

“We need to emphasise that there was no executive permission granted for the plane to land at the military facility being a civilian plane.” Monyala added.
