An accident involving a taxi this morning in Randburg has left twelve people injured.

It is believed that the driver of the fully laden taxi lost control which resulted in the taxi rolling down several times, crashing into traffic lights before coming to a stop on a wall on the side of the road.

ER24 Spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said when paramedics arrived they found that bystanders where actually pulling the patients out of the wreckage.

“One man was badly injured although he was alert throughout and responding well to paramedics he was deemed in a critical condition because he a serious head injury” Jackson added.

Jackson said the remaining eleven occupants were fortunate to come away with only minor and moderate injuries, and all of the patients were treated on the scene and were transported to various hospitals in the area.
