The Western Cape Department of
Finance, Economic Development and Tourism said major events in the province
have generated R1.3 billion in the previous financial year.
MEC Alan Winde said the events that
have generated the money spread across the province and reflects the diversity
of the province as a whole.
Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne
Jooste said MEC Winde has highlighted the string of events for the province’s
economy because they are a key part of the province’s economy.
She added that the biggest events
are spread throughout the province and they show the diversity of the Western
Cape
