Western Cape Traffic Authorities out in full force

The Western Cape traffic Authorities on Friday held 12 roadblocks. About 1 705 vehicles were stopped on these roadblocks.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said 633 drivers were tested for alcohol and 7 drivers were arrested.

The Highest reading was recorded in Swellendam.

Africa said there were also several arrests in various areas, some drivers were arrested for being in possession of drugs, overloading and exceeding the speed limit.

He added that there no fatalities reported so far and the authorities will continue with the roadblocks throughout the weekend.
