Health Department to continue providing life saving drugs

National Department of Health said it has noted a document which speaks about the issue of intellectual property in the country, in which some people are rallying others to make it impossible for the government to make medication cheaper in the country. 

There is now pharmaceutical company campaign against South Africa's draft patent policy which Minister Aaron Motsoaledi will have serious consequences for developing countries. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Joe Maila said they will do everything that they can to make sure that all goes ahead so that they have the situation in which they get life saving drugs cheaper than they do at the present moment.

“We will not be able to upload and lift the numbers that we have to put people on the ARV’s, and all other measures that we need to make that our people get life saving drugs in the country.” Maila added.
